Air Volume: 600 - 1000 CFM
Maximum SP: 2" wg. standard air density

Product Overview
The Direct Gas Fired Make-Up Air package is designed to deliver tempered make-up air for installations requiring frequent air changes. Units are designed for natural and propane gas applications, and for indoor or outdoor installation.

Direct Gas-Fired Heater, for use in tempering make-up air. Packages are certified to the ANSI Z83.4-Second Edition and CSA 3.7-2006 combined safety standards. One size is available with a max BTU rate of 241,290 and 1,800 CFM. Units are designed for natural or propane applications and are rated for indoor/outdoor installations in commercial occupancies. A unique feature is the self-adjusting burner profile plates allowing 2-speed and variable-air-volume applications. The plates ensure proper air velocity and pressure drop across the burner for clean combustion. Spring-loaded profile plates react to the momentum of the fresh air stream, therefore, no motors or actuators are needed to drive them, nor do they need to be manually set to a specific position.

Standard features include intermittent spark ignition system with timed safety lockout, and redundant gas valves. Units consist of a galvanized enclosure with an elevated gas burner which burns directly in the air stream. The burner consists of non-clogging, stainless steel combustion baffles attached to a cast iron gas supply section. The burner is capable of nearly 100% thermal efficiency with a maximum turndown ratio of 15 to 1. The products of combustion mix with the make-up air which is introduced into the heater intake directly from outside the building. The burner module has a standard horizontal inlet and discharge duct connection and is located upstream of the blower. The heater has a standard horizontal inlet designed to accommodate an outside air inlet hood with standard 2” filter and screen.

To satisfy a variety of installation requirements, packages are available in a number of configurations which include additions of filtered intake with easy access door and a trunkline that is used to move the air intake away from the grease laden exhaust air. Screened intakes are used to stop debris from being pulled in to the heater. The screened intake attaches directly to the filtered intake or the trunkline. Combination packages that include both exhaust and supply fans mounted on a single roof curb are also available, please contact your sales representative for more information.

Modular Packaged Unit

Product Overview
The Modular Packaged Unit (MPU) is designed to be a factory packaged air conditioning and heating unit for 100% Outdoor Air (OA) applications. Units are sized to operate between 360 to 600 cfm/ton of cooling, depending on climate.

The modular packaged cooling unit is optimized to work in conjunction with highly efficient make-up air delivery methods, such as perimeter supply plenums. The unit can either have a down or end discharge, and can be used with both electric and gas heat. All refrigerant is environmentally friendly R-410A and condensers have a minimum SEER rating of 14 for greater efficiency.

One benefit of this unit is the multiple cooling stages. Multiple cooling stages increase the efficiency by not using 100% of the cooling capacity when this is not needed, thus allowing lower energy usage. An internal make-up air cooling thermostat automatically energizes the first stage when cooling of the make-up air is required. The same thermostat has a built in adjustable differential to energize the second stage of cooling when required.

The condensers are top mounted on the make-up air unit to minimize roof space requirements, and are situated for optimal airflow and serviceability.

Features & Benefits
• High Efficiency 14 SEER Condensers
• Integral Cooling Staged Thermostat
• Multiple Stage cooling for lower energy usage
• Pre-Piped and Charged Refrigeration Circuits
• Optimized for 100% OA for kitchen use
• Cooling requires no additional roof footprint
• Coils and Condensers sized to comfort cool make-up air
• R-410A Environmentally Friendly Refrigerant
• Thermal Expansion Valves and Filter/Dryer Kits
• External Equalization Lines for Thermal Expansion Valves
• Hard Start Relay Kits on the Condensers
• Condenser Disconnect Switch
• Vacuum Tested and Leak Checked Lineset/Coils
• Condenser Transformer Prewired
• Thermostat Prewired and Interlocked with Heater
• Integral Weather/Hail Guards

Remote Panel Option

The Remote Panel is a device used to control the operation of the heater from a remote location. This

unit is available in a “2 Position” or “3 Position” configuration and with or without a cooling output. It also

will accommodate both the discharge temperature dial and the Maxitrol space sensing Selectrastat. It is

important to understand the following Remote Panel controls and uses:

1. Manual/Off/Auto Switch - Used to control blower operation and tempering mode of unit. The

AUTO position allows the unit to “decide”, through the use of the intake air thermostat, whether or

not heating is needed. The MANUAL position allows the user to control whether or not heat is

needed. The OFF position will turn the blower off when a “3 Position” remote panel is ordered.

The OFF position will disable all temperature controls when a “2 Position” remote panel is

ordered and fan power is then controlled by the pre-wire package only.

2. Heat/Vent Switch – This switch is powered when the Manual/Off/Auto switch is in the MANUAL

position. It is used to control the tempering mode of the unit. The VENT position will prevent the

burner from operating and the heater will deliver untempered air. The HEAT position will force

the burner on and the unit will heat the incoming air. This switch becomes a Heat/Vent/Cool

switch when the cooling interlock is ordered. This option provides a 120V cooling output from the

remote panel.

3. Lights- Displays the current status of unit features. The light definitions are as follows:

POWER - Illuminated when there is power to Remote Panel.

BLOWER ON - Illuminated when the blower motor is powered.

BURNER ON - Illuminates after pilot flame has established and main valve is powered.

FLAME FAILURE - Illuminated when the Flame Safety Control is in Alarm mode.

CLOGGED FILTER – (Optional) Illuminated when the Intake Filters are Dirty.

4. Temperature Control – Controls the discharge temperature of a standard unit. The temperature

dial is replaced with a Maxitrol Selectrastat in Space Heating applications and is used to control

the space temperature.
